Swallowtail
Butterflies
With over 550
species, the swallowtail butterfly is found on all continents
except the Antarctica. This family also includes the birdwing
butterflies in Australia, the largest butterflies in the world.
They have earned their name as most of the adults have forked
tails, like swallows, and many of them are endangered. Oregon,
Virginia, Georgia, Delaware and South Carolina, have all chosen
a swallowtail butterfly as their state insect. Take a break and
make our puzzle. Remember to click on Ghost to have the picture
as your workspace, and click on Image when you want to see the
full color picture. You rotate pieces by putting your mouse over
the chosen piece and either using your arrow keys or the roller
on your mouse. Click and drag the pieces where you want them to
go. It usually helps to make the border first, and separating
the pieces into piles of like colors. Have fun! Photo is
