Anthuriums
Add a Touch of the Tropics
to Your Home
You
don’t have to live in South America to enjoy the
beauty of Anthuriums!
These exotic-looking tropical plants are readily available for anyone to enjoy indoors. With brightly colored flower spathes and pretty ornamental leaves, you’ll love the touch of the tropics- even in your northern home!
Anthuriums need a high light, but not direct sunlight, so
place your plant within two feet of an east or west facing
window with the curtains or drapes kept open. Water your
anthurium thoroughly, but don’t over water, and allow it to
dry slightly between watering. No fertilizing is needed for
the first three months. Thereafter, fertilize your
anthuriums about every other month with a slow- release
water soluble fertilizer. And be sure to remove dead and
unsightly foliage and faded or brown flowers to keep your
anthurium looking tropical hot!
