About Temecula
Home to over 265,000 residents, Temecula is a very
cultural and diversified community located in the
southwest corner of Riverside County in Southern
California. An easy drive from Los Angeles, Orange
County, San Diego, and Palm Springs; Temecula is almost
in equal distance from San Diego [60 miles] and Los
Angeles [85 miles], and is close to the I-15 freeway.
Sitting at an elevation of 1,500 ft, and boasting an
average rainfall of 14 inches per year, Temecula has a
mild climate with summer highs of 85 degrees, very low
humidity, and cool nights. It is a prime area to produce
wine. Being home to 21 quality wineries, Temecula has
become a popular wine tasting destination.
One of the most historic communities in Southern
California, Temecula has a rich heritage that begins
with the Luiseño people, who named their village
‘Temecula’, meaning “place of the sun”. Preserving
Temecula’s Old West heritage, Old Town Temecula is a
popular destination featuring specialty and antique
shopping, art galleries, museums, restaurants and a
weekly Farmer’s Market. This charming destination boasts
the Old Town Community Theater, and a number of special
events during the year.

enjoy including hot air ballooning, hiking, camping,
