“I believe they have definitely been one of the most useful animals to
ever exist. Without them the mail would not have arrived, settlers may
not have been able to construct their buildings and homes, and getting
somewhere in the pioneer days would have sure taken a lot longer! They
have been used to carry the sick and dead, soldiers into battle, the
local doctor to someone's ailing bedside and later in history, putting
out a major fire might not would have happened if not for the horses to
pull the fire wagon!
