DAVID MIZEJWSKI: GARDENING FOR WILDLIFE

David Mizejewski has been fascinated by our natural world for as long as he can remember. A lifelong naturalist, he spent his youth exploring the woods, fields and wetlands, observing and learning about the surprising diversity of wildlife that inhabits them.

David is a media personality, author, blogger and a naturalist with the National Wildlife Federation. He holds a degree in Human and Natural Ecology from Emory University and is an expert on wildlife and our environment. He’s dedicated to using his knowledge and his enthusiasm to help others understand and protect wildlife. David is the author of the how-to book Attracting Birds, Butterflies and Other Backyard Wildlife, winner of the 2005 Publisher’s Marketing Association Benjamin Franklin Award. He is a contributor to numerous publications and a regular guest on a variety of TV and radio shows.

Since 1973, NWF’s Garden for Wildlife program has been educating and empowering people to turn their garden spaces into thriving habitat for birds, butterflies and other wildlife. Not only does this program help wildlife, it also gives people a daily connection to the natural world, literally right outside their door. To date, NWF has recognized over 200,000 spaces representing 1.5 million acres as Certified Wildlife Habitats in suburban yards, schools, campuses, corporate properties, farms, parks and more.
