ON-GOING EVENTS:

Thursdays at The Theatre: Enjoy Thursdays at the Historic Yuma Theatre with the AWC Foundation. Film starts at 7:00pm and is screened in the Historic Yuma Theatre, in downtown Yuma. $5 admission ($2.50 for AWC/NAU students with ID). April 13 & May 4.

11th Annual Village Jazz Series – Bring your seat and blanket to enjoy a relaxing evening of free jazz, Thursdays from 6pm- 8pm during the months of March and April, at the Village Area of the Yuma Palms Regional Center.

June 3-July 29: The Children’s Museum of Yuma County is back at the Yuma Art Center Wednesday-Saturday from June 3 through July 29.

SPECIAL EVENTS

 

June 3: Movie in the Park: “Sandlot” – Bring your camp chair and blanket to enjoy a movie under the stars on a monster blow-up screen. All ages are welcome to attend this free event at the Cibola Athletic Field. The Sandlot is rated PG and has an approximate runtime of 101 minutes. Popcorn, water, and soda will be available for purchase.

 

June 10: Family Fish Fiesta: Bring your gear and bait and head over to the West Wetlands Park Pond to take part in this free fishing derby for everyone! All ages are welcome to attend this fun fishing competition for the whole family. Arizona Game and Fish will be on hand, providing a limited number of fishing poles to borrow, and bait to use. During this event only, an Arizona fishing license for participants 14 and older will not be required.
June 16: Washoes & Cornhole Tournament: Who will be the Boss of the Toss?! Enter your team and head over to the Yuma Civic Center to find out! Every player is a winner with each registered player receiving a door prize and bragging rights to the ultimate tournament champion. Don’t want to play? Come by to cheer your favorite team along and enjoy music as well as food & drink specials. This event is open to participants age 21+. June 17: Juneteenth: The Yuma Chapter of the NAACP and the City of Yuma Heritage Festivals invite you to the Juneteenth Celebration in historic downtown Yuma. This free, family event will include: guest speakers, live music, food and craft vendors, games and eating contests, and more. Tel: (928) 783-4305.

July 4: 31st Annual Independence Day Flag Raising Ceremony: Come celebrate America’s Independence Day as we honor past and present military with the raising of the Stars and Stripes, patriotic music and special guest speakers at the Yuma Armed Forces Park in an early morning ceremony.

 

July 4: 4th of July All American BBQ & Fireworks Spectacular: The City of Yuma’s biggest 4th of July celebration lights up Desert Sun Stadium! This amazing family event will include picnic style food, pie eating contests, entertainment, fun water features, and of course for the grand finale….a fireworks display! Bring a non-perishable food item to support the Yuma Community Food Bank. Entry fee is only $1.

 

July 8: Full Moon Kayaking Trip: Bring your binoculars along on this trip! You’ll be amazed by all that can be seen so clearly in the night sky as you kayak the Colorado River. July 15: Girls Night Out: The ‘Girls’ have been thrilling audiences and earning raves from critics throughout North America since it began touring after its sensational Off-Broadway debut. This touching and hilarious ‘tell-it-like-it-is’ musical takes audiences on a journey into the lives of a group of female friends. Historic Yuma Theatre, Tel: (928) 373-5202

July 21-22: Into The Woods Jr: Presented by the Yuma Art Center’s Infinite Imagination Youth Theater Program, the musical Into the Woods Jr., features all of your favorite characters – Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk) and the Witch in this lyrically rich retelling of classic Brothers Grimm fables.  Tel: (928) 373-5202

 

Aug. 5: Sunrise Kayaking: Enjoy a guided trip and watch the world wake up as the sun rises along the Colorado River. This trip is open to participants ages 8+ (age 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult) and fee is $33 per person. Begins at Bruce Church and ends at Gateway Park. Aug. 18: Celebrate the Heat! The City of Yuma’s Heritage Festivals invites you to Celebrate the Heat on Main Street with live music and entertainment, great food and shopping, family activities, and more.Tel: 928.373.5028
