Chuck is a master at portraying the wildlife and landscapes of the desert Southwest in his murals and oils on canvas. The Texas-born artist and his actress wife, Holgie Forrester, moved to Twentynine Palms in 1997, trading a Hollywood studio for a spacious dome home near the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. The dome became Caplinger’s world headquarters for Desert Art Studio and Gallery. Pictured mural “CDPA 20th Anniversary” is by Caplinger and Art Mortimer, and is located at the Old Schoolhouse Museum. Pictured “29!” metal sculpture, designed by Caplinger, welcomes travelers as they enter Twentynine Palms from the west, on 29 Palms Hwy. More at http://www.desertartstudio.com/
