GUNNAR & MARISA CHINA HAMMERBECK – PORTOVINO HAPPY HOUR
Gunnar and Marisa Hammerbeck, the husband-wife creative team behind Porto-Vino talk about their stylish PortoVino tote bags and backpacks that discreetly hold and pour 1.5L of your favorite beverage (equivalent to 2 bottles of wine) from a removable, easy to use BPA-free party pouch, on Big Blend Radio.
Marisa and Gunnar started their company in 2001 after an incredible eighteen-month backpacking journey around the world in search of adventure and new products to start a business. Since both grew up in international families, they shared a love for traveling, and found themselves yearning to see more of this amazing world we live in. They first met at an international graduate business school and worked in corporate America for several years before getting married. They then decided to embark on an adventure that would eventually lead them through Central America, Southeast Asia, India, Nepal, Africa and Europe. Upon returning from their incredible journey, they took the plunge and started a business, along with a family. Their business focus would be in designing, importing and distributing accessories for the wine and gourmet food industry.
In 2017, they launched the PortoVino Wine Purse. The vision was to make a high quality, fashionable purse that could discretely store and pour wine from a secret insulated pocket. On the heels of it’s immediate success, they have continued to design multiple collections that are fashionable and also have the functionality to store and pour beverages on the go. Since giving back is huge for both Marisa and Gunnar, for every purse sold, a meal is provided for a child in need with Feed My Starving Children organization.More at www.Porto-Vino.com.
