The best way to enjoy LaGrange is to stay downtown and walk everywhere! LaGrange is a small town in western Georgia filled with history and charm. Located halfway between Atlanta and Chattanooga, LaGrange has several historic homes and gardens open to the public. There is a Downtown Walking Tour with 26 stops, and the town has more than its share of eating establishments. There are restaurants, bakeries, a terrific hot dog joint (serving dogs since 1920), and Lafayette Square (the perfect shady spot to find a bench.) The area also boasts a winery, brewery, and an old-fashioned Soda Fountain in the local pharmacy. Travel writer Jo Clark’s advice? Walk a little, shop a little, and eat a little. Repeat.
