Pumpkin Pie and Chardonnay or Viognier – This humble classic, which often appears at Thanksgiving feasts, pairs ideally with a crisp, fruity Chardonnay or Viognier.
Pecan Pie and Pinot Noir or Grenache – Complex layers and the savory nature of Pinot Noir or Grenache make it the perfect accompaniment to a slice of rich, nutty pecan pie.
Apple Pie and Riesling – Whether choosing a dry or sweet Riesling, its acidity can cut through the richness of apple pie while its white grape flavors complement the sweet-yet-tart apples of this pie.
Cherry Pie Pinot Noir or Red Wine Blends – Pair a slice of sweet cherry pie with a light- to medium-bodied dry red wine, which can enhance its fruit flavors. A light Pinot Noir, with notes of herbs, spice, and cherries or currants, would be an excellent choice.
