LET’S MAKE PIZZA!
Ivan Flowers, 5-Star Chef & Culinary Instructor, talks about making pizza, and shares tips and techniques to make the perfect dough using his recipe below.
Pizza Dough Recipe
2 cups warm water (about 110 degrees)
1 Tbsp. Yeast
Pinch of sugar
5 cups flour, divided
Pinch of salt
Mix yeast and sugar into warm water and let sit about 5 minutes until yeast is proofed.
Add 2 ½ cups flour with the yeast mixture. Mix 3 minutes with large spoon or with dough hook on a mixer.
Slowly add in additional flour and salt. You may use all remaining flour, or not, depending on humidity. Mix additional 3 minutes until ball forms.
Remove and cut large ball of dough into smaller balls, roll in olive oil, put on plate, cover loosely with plastic wrap and rest in fridge overnight.
Next day, form pizza crusts in floured surface, top and cook in hot oven until dough is crisp and toppings melt. Heat of oven will vary.
