PASS THE PEANUTS & THE PEANUT BUTTER!

Donna George from The Peanut Patch shares kid-friendly peanut and peanut butter snack ideas, and a recipe for peanut butter crispy bars. Looking for a fun Peanut game for toddlers? 3 Quick Snacks for Kids
1. Combine ½ cup creamy peanut butter with ¾ part-skim ricotta cheese. Refrigerate. Spread on graham crackers, whole wheat raisin bread or small bagels.
2. Combine equal parts peanut butter, crunchy whole-grain cereal and raisins. Use as a spread on tortillas or as a stuffing for a cored apple.
3. Roll wedges of apple in caramel ice cream topping, then in chopped peanuts to create “Caramel Apple Bites.” Refrigerate until serving.


Peanut Butter Crispy Bars Recipe
Prep time is 15 minutes, yields 24 bars.

3 Tablespoons margarine
10 Ounces marshmallows
¼ Cup creamy peanut butter
6 Cups crisp rice cereal

1. Melt margarine and marshmallows together in a large saucepan over low heat. Stir frequently until melted completely,
Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter until dissolved.
Stir in rice cereal until the cereal is completely coated with marshmallow mixture.
Spread the mixture into a 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan lightly coated with non-stick cooking spray. Press mixture into pan until firmly packed.
Cool completely. Cut into 24 bars.
