Johnny’s an award-winning, eclectic LA-based singer/songwriter with a BA in Music (Composition and Voice) from Cal State University, Fullerton. His duet “You Can’t Hide the Light” with GRAMMY® Award-Winner Melissa Manchester, fulfills a decades-long dream of recording with her. He won the prestigious UK Songwriting Contest in the “Best Original Song” category, a joint venture with Music Aid International. The UKSC had more than 6,500 entries in 2021 from 80 countries. They won “Best Music Video” at the 2023 Pasadena International Film Festival. He also won “Best Music in a Short Film” in the Paris International Short Film Festival. He composed music for Lesbian author Gayla Turner’s Audiobook “Don’t You Dare,” which was recorded by Lesbian Singer-Songwriter-Guitarist-Producer Jill Knight. He’s sung backup for Josh Groban, Sarah Vaughan, Sarah Brightman, Pete Townsend, and Billy Idol. Co-creators include Producer Stephan Oberhoff, Lugo, Bimbo Jones, Bolton Hill, Bram Stoker Award-winning author and lyricist Elizabeth Massie, author Marianne Williamson, jazz harpist Carol Robbins, Christoph Bull, Paul the Trombonist, composer Michael J Lewis, Gary Stockdale, Chad Ellis, and composer Lynn Kowal. He’s sung on projects as diverse as children’s records, musical theater, and opera. Johnny’s married to Videographer Paco Silva and is active in the LGBTQ arts community. His single, “You Paved the Way” features GRAMMY® Award-Winner Kimaya Seward (formerly of Hiroshima).
