THE BRUTALISTS: WE ARE NOT HERE TO HELP

On this episode of Big Blend Radio, Mick Cripps of The Brutalists talks about their UK Tour and second album “We Are NOT Here to Help,” that’s available now through Cleopatra Records.

The Brutalists are inspired by Brutalist architecture, which blossomed in the sixties and seventies, at the point where governments and civic organizations began putting cost before the comfort and mental well-being of their citizens. The music that grew up around these developments forms the core of the Brutalists’ style —the dirty, leering, amphetamine blues of pub rock, the urgency of first-generation punk and the synthesized dance ennui of post-punk, all seasoned with bits of ska and reggae.

The Brutalists band members are: guitarist Mick Cripps (founding member of LA Guns), lead vocalist Nigel Mogg (founder of The Quireboys), guitarist/vocalist Kent Holmes, bassist Luke Bossendorfer and vocalist/drummer Charlie Nice. They perform regularly in the greater Los Angeles area and throughout California.

The Brutalists signed to Cleopatra Records in November 2017 and their eponymous debut album was released in August 2018. Their second album, “We Are NOT Here to Help” is out now at www.CleoRecs.com and www.TheBrutalists.net.
